Presented by Utah Valley Players

JUNE 17, 19, 20
The Towne Hub, 120 W Main St., American Fork, UT 84003

One of the most produced plays by high schools around the country. This youth production of this play is about the reaction to the 1998 murder of gay University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard. The murder was denounced as a hate crime and brought attention to the lack of hate crime laws in various states, including Wyoming. The play draws on hundreds of interviews conducted by a theatre company with the inhabitants of the town, journal entries, and news reports.
This play is based on a true story, and includes language and mature content that some may find upsetting, including descriptions of homophobia, violence and death.
